Super Stock Championship to be Decided This Saturday Night

Super Stock Championship to be Decided This Saturday Night

Between the two men competing for this year’s Super Stock championship they have won seven Kalamazoo Speedway track championships.  With that said neither of them has won a championship since 2006 and both badly want to be celebrating a title with their team at the Radisson in late October.  Kenny Head enters with a 47 point edge in the battle for the title.  Head has won the championship in this division twice, in 2000 and 2001.  He also went on to win the final Limited Late Model championship in 2006.  His challenger is Brandon Lyons, a four time Limited Late Model champion, including three in a row from 2003-2005.

Although it will be a challenge for Lyons to make up the 47 points, it is certainly not out of the question.  Earlier this season in the “Super Stock Summertime 50 presented by Johnny’s Auto Sales” Lyons made up 57 points on Head, more than enough to leave as champion if the same were to happen this Saturday night.   Head has been on a roll as of late, picking up his fourth win of the season in last Saturday night’s “Super Stock Spectacular presented by Renegade”.  He has finished in the top five of all but two events and has only finished outside of the top ten once.  This seasons Super Stock champion will receive $2,000 from the Kalamazoo Speedway point fund.
