A “Celebration of Life” Luncheon has been scheduled for Saturday, January 10th at the Oak Grove Bible Church for Craig Schweikert.  The “Celebration of Life” will go from 2-4pm.  Better known as “Craig at the Gate”, Craig who was 62 years old started working at the track selling Marc Times Racing News when he was just 6 years old.  He did it all out there as he was the caretaker of the track for the past 14 years for the Howe family.  For more information call Donna Howe at 269-692-2423.

Reserved Pit Spots for 2015

  • Anyone who had paid for a reserved pit spot during 2014 has until January 16th to pay for that same spot for 2015.

  • If you are looking to purchase a reserved pit spot for 2015, you can start paying for these now but exact spots will not be decided on until after the 16th.

  • We will do our best to accommodate everyone for their desired spots they are looking for but with car counts climbing, three or more pit spots together will be at a premium.

  • Lower Infield Spots are $100 and the Upper Two Pit reserved spots are $50 for the regular season.  On certain occasions like when Winged Super Sprints are at Kazoo, some pit areas will have to be relocated for the night.

  • Keep in mind all of our spots are paved with electric nearby; so you do not need to purchase a parking spot as there will be open spots available.  However if you have a large tow rig/trailer or need more than a single spot for 2 or more cars, reserving a spot may be a good idea.

  • All spots will be officially reserved as the payment has been made for said spot.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to you and your family from everyone at Kalamazoo Speedway.

The proverbial checkered flag is about to fly on the stock car racing season in Michigan, but there is one “spooktacular” event that will take place on October 24th through the 26th at Kalamazoo Speedway. The World Series of Compacts along with the Midwest Mini Cup Championship will showcase a great weekend of racing action for FWD and RWD four cylinders, FWD V6′s and Mini Cup cars along with Halloween themed fun for the whole family at an admission price of only 10 dollars per day!

The racing action will kick off on Saturday with qualifying set to start at 2 with heat races following at 4. The Mini Cups will run their first of two features for the weekend that will pay a cool $200 to the winner! The track will then go dark for the running of “The Legend of the Sleepy Zoo” that will feature FWD enduro cars and compact FWD racing for 25 laps utilizing a lone spot light on top of the car to guide them around the darkened 3/8 mile! Upon completion of the race, fans big and small are invited to “Trunk or Treat” with the drivers and cars in the pits from 8-9:30.

On Sunday racing action will kick of at 2 with a World Series of Compacts last chance race followed by Mini Cup heat races and a Mini Stock B main. The W.S.C. C main paying $200, Mini Cup feature paying $200 and a W.S.C. B main paying $300 lead up to the two big final events. The RWD Mini Stocks will run a 50 lapper that pays $600 to the winner!. Then the World Series of Compacts will go 75 laps for a whopping $2,222 to win to be paid in all two dollar bills! This marks the highest paying event for these classes in the entire Midwest!

Shane Miller Takes Title as Cauffman Wins & Jenkins Flips @ the Zoo

After 371 laps Jeff Cauffman and Barry Jenkins exited the final corner side by side and were racing to the checkered flag when the two made contact sending Jenkins into the wall and upside down. Cauffman picked up the thrilling victory over Jenkins, Terry Ferrell, Bob Miller and Ryan Rozell. Dave Miller led the second half of the top ten over Todd Metz Sr., Shane Miller, Bill Null and Brian Machiele. Shane Miller’s eighth place finish was good enough to secure him the 2014 Kalamazoo Speedway Four Cylinder Enduro Series Championship.

Although the on-track action for 2014 is now complete there is still one event left on the schedule, the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Kalamazoo Speedway Awards Ceremony. The night will see several awards handed out and will culminate by crowning Mike “Bubba” Brooks as the Outlaw Super Late Model champion for the second time. Tickets are just $40 and are still available by calling 269-692-2423.
