Race Day Info

Kalamazoo Speedway wants your family’s visit to the Zoo to be a fun & entertaining experience. We offer so much more than just racing, so make sure to check out the 2017 schedule.  The following information and tips will assure your visit to Kalamazoo Speedway is an enjoyable one!  Thank you in advance for attending Kalamazoo Speedway.

Tickets:  Ticket offices are located to the right of the main entrance to the Speedway grandstands. There are 4 windows to provide prompt service. Cash or credit cards are accepted (Master Card & Visa). Pit passes are purchased at windows marked as such.

Free Parking:  Kalamazoo Speedway always offers free parking including paved and plentiful handicap parking. If you ride your motorcycle to the track, we have a special area of reserved paved parking just for you.

What to Wear:  Casual attire is the word at the Speedway. Just remember you are outdoors, so dress accordingly and don’t forget the sunscreen. Closed toed shoes and long pants are recommended in the pit area; shirts must be worn at all times regardless of whether you’re in the pit area or the grandstands. The races can get loud so if you have sensitive hearing, ear plugs or ear muffs may be the ticket for you. We sell both products at the souvenir stand at a minimal cost.

Coolers:  Coolers are allowed at Kalamazoo Speedway for most events, although we ask that you limit your cooler to no bigger than 14”. No glass bottles are allowed on the grounds. Your cooler will be subject to inspection before entry to the grandstand area. If your cooler is larger than 14” we will ask that you return it to your vehicle.  No unattended coolers can be left at the gate.  New for 2017, for both Wednesday Super Late Model shows as well as both Night of Destruction Events, we cannot allow any sized coolers, wagons, strollers or pull carts of any kind to be brought in to the grandstands.

Restrooms:  Kalamazoo Speedway offers 2 modern restrooms. One is located immediately to your right as you enter the main Speedway grandstand entrance. The other is located further down on the right (in the turn one area) near the souvenir stand. Both women’s restrooms are equipped with baby changing stations. Numerous Porta-Johns are located throughout the venue.

ATM:  For your convenience an ATM machine is located directly behind the ticket office.

Main Concession Stand:  Located directly to your left as you enter the main Speedway grandstand entrance (midway). Whether you need an ice cold soda or a complete meal of a cheeseburger or chicken strips & fries, you will find the best food in the short track racing business right here.  Our food is good and it’s affordable for the entire family!

Beer Barn and Snack Shack:  Located to your right on the midway, find your adult beverages at the Beer Barn. Be ready to show your ID; we card and record every purchase. The Snack Shack is your stop for cold soda, meals plus unique snacks like mushrooms, funnel cakes, popcorn, nachos, candy and more.

Zoo Grill:  Located to your right on the midway, get your grilled burgers, hot dogs, brats and steak on a stick here.  Round out your order with chips and a beverage!

Marquee Events:  Several programs, such as the Kalamazoo Klash and the Legendary Night of Destruction, are sellouts.  Don’t be caught in traffic or without a seat.  Arrive early!

Pets:  Sorry, EXCEPT for service dogs, pets are not allowed in the grandstand areas. We do allow pets in the pit areas when on a maximum 6 foot leash. If your pet demonstrates vicious behavior, you will be asked to remove your pet immediately. It is never acceptable to us to leave your pet in your vehicle during the races!

Camping:  Kalamazoo Speedway provides (no hookup) free camping. We encourage our campers to use the far east end of the parking lot for their campsites. Small campfires are allowed as long as they are contained at all times.
