Kalamazoo Speedway wants your family’s visit to the Zoo to be a fun & entertaining experience. We offer so much more than just racing, so make sure to check the website for a complete listing of the 2011 schedule of events. Below you will find several items that will make your trip easier & insure your visit to Kalamazoo Speedway will be an enjoyable one!
Tickets: Our ticket offices are located just to right of the main entry gate of the speedway. There are now 4 windows to provide better service. Cash or credit cards are accepted (MC & Visa). All pit passes will also be purchased here as well.
Free Parking: Kalamazoo Speedway always has free parking. We also have ample space for handicap parking. If you do ride your motorcycle to the race track, we have a special area of reserved paved parking for you also.
What to Wear: Casual attire is the word at the speedway. Just remember, you are out in the outdoors, so dress accordingly for the elements, and don’t forget the sunscreen. Closed toed shoes & long pants are recommended in the pit area; we also require you to wear a shirt at all times while at the speedway. The races can get loud at times so if you have sensitive hearing, ear plugs or ear muffs may be the ticket for you. We sell both products at the souvenir stand at a minimal cost.
Coolers: Coolers are allowed at Kalamazoo Speedway, although we ask that you limit your cooler to no bigger than 14”. Remember no glass bottles will be allowed into the speedway, as your cooler will be subject to inspection before entry to the grand stand area. If your cooler is larger than 14” we will ask you to take it back to your vehicle. Unattended coolers left at the gate will NOT be the responsibility of the Kalamazoo Speedway.
Restrooms: Kalamazoo Speedway offers 2 full service restrooms. One is located as you walk into the speedway on the right. The other one is down in the turn one area, near the souvenir stand. Both ladies bathrooms are equipped with baby changing stations as well. There are also Porta-Johns down in the turn four area behind the sky boxes.
Main Concession Stand: Located directly to your left as you enter the midway is our main concession stand. Whether you just need an ice cold soda or a complete meal of a cheeseburger or chicken strips & fries, you will find the best food in the short track racing business here. If you attend other sporting event venues, don’t think you will see a $4 hot dog or a $6 beer at Kalamazoo Speedway….our food is good & it is affordable for the entire family!
Beer Barn and Snack Shack: Also located on the midway is our new Beer Barn and Snack Shack. Here you will find your adult beverages, along with unique snack items not sold at the main concession stand. We will be fully stocked with popcorn, nachos, candy, pop and more. New for 2009 will be the all new Zoo Dollar Menu, located at the new Snack Shack. Be ready to show us you’re I.D. if you plan on purchasing our adult beverages, as we do card & record every purchase.
Pets: Sorry, but insurance reasons, pets are not allowed in the grandstands EXCEPT service dogs. We will allow pets in the pits only if they are on a walking leash with you or properly leashed in some other manner so as to prohibit them from wandering freely. If your pet demonstrates vicious behavior, you will be asked to remove your pet immediately. It is never acceptable to us to leave your pet in your vehicle during the races!
Camping: As always, Kalamazoo Speedway provides free camping. We do not have hookups. We encourage our campers to use the far east end of the parking lot for their camp sites. Small fires are allowed as long as they stay contained.
Souvenir Stand: Kalamazoo Speedway has a souvenir stand located on the midway. Here you can find all of your latest and greatest Kalamazoo Speedway apparel & souvenirs. We offer tee shirts, sweat shirts, hats, tank tops, can coolers, seat cushions, ear plugs and more.
Photo booth and Video Booth: Our Track Photographer and Go Faster Video will have a booth connected to the souvenir stand. Here you can purchase photos of your favorite drivers or a DVD of your favorite night of racing action. After the races you can take those pictures down to the pits and have them autographed.
