Shook Fastest In First Pre-Season Test @ the Zoo

Sixty-four cars took to the track Saturday for the first of two pre-season test sessions at Kalamazoo Speedway.  Of those cars Mark Shook was the fastest in his Outlaw Super Late Model with a lap of 12.816 seconds at 105.337mph.  12-time champion Andy Bozell was fastest for a good portion of the afternoon and ended up second ahead of his son, defending champion Phil Bozell.  Brian Bergakker, who will run for the championship in 2012 was fourth quickest ahead of Todd Harrington, who debuted two beautiful new machines, which were fifth and sixth quickest.  Doug Rodanhisler was seventh ahead of John Chapman, former Modified champion Mike Brooks and Marty Crawford.

Chris Shannon was the fastest Super Stock on the property with a lap of 13.836 seconds.  Darren Lane was second ahead of Lindsey Katz, who debuted her new ride with the Bozell Rcing team.  Jake Hopwood, Kenny Head, Ryan Wheeler, Matt Elsey, Jerry Andrews, Jordan Hunderman and Gary Denzel completed the top ten.

The Pro Stock division saw Lloyd Brooks turn the fastest lap with a 14.932 second run  Keith Wilfong was second ahead of John Long, Tyler Hufford and Bryan Noble.  Completing the top ten were Daton Wright, Jim Wheaton, Danny Oxford, Ron Bresett and Christina Rantz.

The brand new Mini Stock division saw Frank Stager run the fastest time of the first test session with a lap of 15.118 seconds.  George Watts, Frank Root, Noah Gallandt and Jesse Gruis rounded out the top five.

The Cyber Stock class had fifteen cars on hand, with Logan Knight topping the speed charts.  Dale Leonard, Jack Cook, Travis Krum and Felicia Meade were second through fifth.

Pre-Season testing concludes this Saturday with one final five hour test session from 1-6pm.  This will be the final opportunity for drivers to tune on their cars before the April 21 season opener.  Should Saturday’s test session be rained out, the session will take place on Sunday.  For all the Kalamazoo Speedway news keep checking www.kalamazoospeedway.com.
