Ben Raber will bring a 43 point lead into one of the biggest events on the Modified calendar Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Modified Madness will be a 50 lap, $750 to win event for the mighty Modifieds, who have had some thrilling racing in recent weeks at the Zoo. Matt Bainbridge, who has led the point standings for the majority of 2011 was involved in a crash last week and now resides second in the standings ahead of defending champion and last week’s winner Mike “Bubba” Brooks. Those three drivers are separated by just 49 points as we head into the heart of the summer stretch run. Also still hanging on to championship hopes are AJ Foote, Ryan Wheeler and Brent Hook, all who are expected to be contenders to win Modified Madness. With both Berlin Raceway and the USA Modified Series off, several outsiders could make their way to the Zoo in an attempt to take home the $750. Racing starts Saturday night at 7pm at the World’s Fastest 3/8 Mile Track, the Kalamazoo Speedway!
