Kalamazoo Speedway Season Kicks Into High Gear Tonight!

Kalamazoo Speedway Season Kicks Into High Gear Tonight!

TONIGHT, May 6 the 2016 Kalamazoo Speedway season kicks into high gear with a full 5 in 1 show featuring the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Pro Stocks, Outlaw Cyber Stocks and Flip Flop Cyber Stocks. Race fans who kept their ticket stubs from the season opener will have an extra chance of winning the drawing for this week’s giveaway – a 40 inch Flat Screen TV!

Last week, 27 Outlaw Super Late Model drivers competed in the season opening Intimidator 100 with Tyler Roahrig emerging victorious.  Drivers expected to contend for the victory this week include last week’s fast qualifier Rick Senneker, Matt Frazier, Tom Thomas, three-time defending champion Mike “Bubba” Brooks and Mark Shook.

In the Super Stock division 4-time track champion Brandon Lyons looks to repeat after his impressive win on opening night.  If defending champion Buddy Head has anything to say about it, it’ll be the #46 parking in victory lane for the first time this season.  Look for 4-time track champion Kenny Head, Jim Leonard, Cory Pressler and others to challenge. Defending champion Matt Corliss picked up right where he left off last year by taking the Pro Stock win on opening night.  Drivers like Greg Brown, 2-time track champion Ben Raber, 3-time champion Greg Haynes and Barry Jenkins will be looking to knock him out of the top spot. In the Outlaw Cyber Stocks, Dan Rigoni enters the night as the favorite but Nick Layman, Larry Richardson, Brian Gregersen and 2015 Flip Flop Cyber Stock champion Brock Sweeter cannot be ruled out. Finally the Flip Flop Cyber Stocks see Valerie Bozell try to go back-to-back, while Tony LoBretto, Lane Head, Travis Reniger, Keith Ribble and a whole group of Rent-a-Rides look to keep her from doing just that.

On any given night, anything can happen. Favorites can falter, history can be made. Don’t miss out!  Gates open at 4:30, group qualifying starts at 5:45 with racing starting at 7:30.
