Based off the strength of his sixth place finish in last week’s Cool Shirt 50, Jamison Russell has vaulted to the top of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Michigan Rookie of the Year point standings. Russell collected his career best finish last week and coupled with Matt Bainbridge’s 13th place effort, Russell now has a slim 4 point advantage. Lane 75 winner Tyler Roahrig is third in the rookie battle, a mere 13 points behind Russell.
