Q: When is Night of Destruction at Kalamazoo Speedway?

A: This Saturday night, September 13th, with action starting at 7 p.m.

Q: How do I get tickets for NOD?

A: Monday thru Friday at Howe Patio in Plainwell, 8 to 5. At the track on Saturday, tickets on sale at Noon!

Q: What is available for the kids?

A: FREE bus rides around the Speedway will run from 5:30 to 7. We will also have $5/person Monster Truck Rides from 4:30 to 7.

Q: Can I be involved at Night of Destruction?

A: YES, we are looking for 16 participants for SPECTATOR RACES to start off the night. A STREET LEGAL, PLATED car is required. All you need to purchase is a General Admission pass and bring your car up to the pit gate by 6:40. We ask that you are AT THE TRACK by 6, giving you time to get admission ticket and get signed up. $400 to win!

Q: What Monster Trucks are going to be there?

A: Jim Koehler is bringing the AVENGER to wreak havoc! The team is bringing a 2nd machine with them as well.

Q: What all is going on at this event?

A: Trailer Races, Monster Trucks, Bus Races, Spectator Races, Motorcycle Stunt Show, Skid Plate Races, FIREWORKS, and MUCH MORE!

Q: I don’t get to the track much, but this is a DON’T MISS EVENT, when SHOULD I get there?

A: As early as you want/possible. We will have the ticket office open starting at Noon. Concessions, the gift shop, and plenty of midway options will be available, including the Monster Trucks on display. We WILL BE EXTREMELY BUSY from about 6 p.m. til racetime at the ticket office, so avoiding that is to your advantage.

Q: Are coolers welcome?

A: Coolers are welcome, but must be 6 pack size only. Any larger coolers will be forced to return to your vehicle. Glass is NOT allowed.

Q: What are the ticket prices?

A: Adults are $15 for the mayhem, with teens 10-15 $10, and kids 6-9are $5, and 5 and under are FREE!

Q: Is camping available?

A: Yes! Camping is free, and we ask that you clean up after yourself. No hookups available.

Next on the schedule is the fan favorite “Night of Destruction”, coming up this Saturday night, September 13!!! This is the big one that you don’t want to miss!!! The event will include Monster Trucks, Bus Races, a Motorcycle Stunt Show and more! The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display!

Marc Casey made a thrilling late race pass on Mike Shewchuk to pick up the win in Saturday night’s “Call of the Wild Presented by Raceceiver & Willow Lake Lodge” at Kalamazoo Speedway. It was Casey’s first win in the event and makes him one of the favorites heading into “Super Shoe Nationals XXVIII” at the end of the month. Shewchuk held on for second ahead of Jeff Bozell, AJ Foote and Mike “Bubba” Brooks. Andy Bozell set quick time in the normal qualifying session with a lap of 11.159 seconds while Shewchuk was the fastest in the “Willow Lake Lodge Qualifying Showdown” with a lap of 10.552 seconds at 127.938mph. Other winners on the evening included Rob Hardy (B Feature), Jack Cook (C Feature), Andrew Brest (Mini Stock Feature) and Todd Metz Jr. (FWD Feature). Billy Shannon was the quickest Mini Stock in qualifying while Metz Jr. was the quickest FWD.

Call of the Wild Still On, Time Schedule Adjusted

Tonight’s running of the “Call of the Wild Presented by Raceceiver and Willow Lake Lodge” at Kalamazoo Speedway is still on. However due to the track not currently having power the schedule has been pushed back in hopes of getting power restored at the facility. Gates will now open at 3:00 with practice going from 4:30-6:30. Practice speeds will set the lineups for tonight’s races and the four fastest cars from practice will be invited to participate in the “Willow Lake Lodge Qualifying Showdown” at approximately 8:00.

This Saturday night, September 6 will see one of the fan’s favorite annual events return to the Zoo with the running of “Call of the Wild Presented by Raceceiver and Willow Lake Lodge”. This event is a wide open “Run What Ya Brung Outlaw Spectacular” that will see drivers attempt to break the world record of 10.020 seconds around a 3/8 mile track, which was set by Andy Bozell in this event in 2011. In addition to the “Willow Lake Lodge Qualifying Showdown” where drivers will take attempts at the world record and be going after the $750 bonus for the fastest qualifying time of the night, there will also be a fifty lap feature paying $1500 to the winner. In addition to the featured “Outlaw V-8” division there will also be “Outlaw Mini Stocks” and “Outlaw FWD Cars”. The event does have a rain date of Sunday, September 7.

Veteran driver Tristan Dupuis picked up his first Enduro victory of the season in the “Kalamazoo Klassic 200 Presented by Little Caesars” Sunday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Dupuis held off Shane Miller, Dave Miller, Robert Rheinsberg and Harold Bloomer for the victory. Brad Theyer led the second half of the top ten over Ottis Jennings, Tim Easey, Ed Burgen and Corey Miechiels.

Brooke Derrick picked up the victory in the twelve lap Powder Puff event. Juliette Sweeter finished second ahead of Ashley Loy, Kara Thayer and Anna Pratt. This was the final Powder Puff event of the 2014 season.
