Shane Miller Wins Stars & Stripes 200

Shane Miller prevailed in a battle that lasted essentially the entire 200 laps with Corey Miechiels to win the Stars & Stripes 200 Presented by Howe Patio & Windows on Wednesday night.  Harold Blommer finished a solid third ahead of Dave Miller and Jeff Cauffman.  Don Simmons Sr. led the second half of the top ten ahead of Brad Thayer, Jerrud Stout, Jim Cauffman and Mark Rozell.  Notable finishers included Alan Thorton in 17th, Zack Westdorp in 28th and Sam Andrews in 50th.  The next Enduro will be the Kalamazoo Klassic 200 on Sunday, September 1.  That event will also feature spectator drags and the final Powder Puff event of the season.

Kalamazoo Speedway action continues this Saturday night with a full 5 in 1 show featuring the “Whelen 50” for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models.  Mike “Bubba” Brooks brings a 19 point edge into the event over defending champion Brian Bergakker.  Jeff Ganus (-34) and Billy Shannon (-126) sit third and fourth in the standings and will be among the drivers looking for their first victory of the season.  In addition to the Outlaw Super Late Models all other divisions will also be on hand including the Super Stocks and Pro Stocks, who will be running the “Pro Stock Prodigy 30 Presented by Steensma”.  The Mini Stocks will also be in action, as will the Cyber Stocks running the “Wham Bam Cyber Slam Presented by Shifters”.
