Phil Bozell was the quickest of twenty NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models in qualifying Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway before rain postponed the “Texas Corral 50” to next Saturday night. Brian Bergakker was second fastest ahead of Mark Shook, John Chapman and Adam Terry. The second half of the top ten was led by Billy Shannon over Luke Krick, Mike “Bubba” Brooks, AJ Foote and Matt Corliss. Corey Ryman and Matt Corliss won the heat races. Due to the rainout the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models will run two 50 lap features this Saturday night, June 28.

The Super Stocks got seven laps into their main event before rain postponed the conclusion to next Saturday night. When the race resumes Scott Rugg will be the leader over Buddy Head, Jake Hopwood, Kenny Head and Chris Shannon. Rob Hardy will restart sixth ahead of Jordan Hunderman, Gary Denzel, Jerry Pierman and James Roden. Kenny Head was the evening’s fastest qualifier while the Head brothers split the two heat races. The Super Stocks will complete the final 23 laps of their feature and run an entire second feature this Saturday night.

The Pro Stock division held qualifying for their biggest race of the season, the “Pro Stock Cash Bash Presented by Applebee’s” with Toby Montgomery setting fast time over Budd Hybels, Brent Hook, John Foote Jr. and Lloyd Brooks. Barr Jenkins qualified sixth beating out Zach Westdorp, Greg Brown, Keith Wilfong and Dave Hopwood. The rainout will now see the Pro Stock division running their 35 lap “Pro Stock Cash Bash Presented by Applebee’s” this Saturday night in addition to their normal 30 lap feature.

The Mini Stocks did get in a complete program with Chuck Greer picking up the feature victory over Jerime Damron, former champion Frank Stager, Billy Bussema and Sierra Lantz. The second half of the top ten was led by former Cyber Stock champion Keith Dunham, Noah Gallandt, Shane Clark, Brian Echtinaw and Brock Potter. Mike Mckee set quick time while Damron and Dunham picked up the heat race victories. This Saturday night the Mini Stocks will run “Mini Stock Mayhem Presented by USA Earthworks”, which will pay $400 to the winner.

Young Keegan Dykstra picked up a popular victory in the Cyber Stock feature holding off Curtis Towne, Jerry Jansen Jr., Kyle Jansen and Drew Maxwell for the victory. Brian Gregersen finished sixth beating out DJ Oxford, Josh Roberts, Cliff Lambert and Bob Miller. Jansen Jr. was the evening fastest qualifier while Dykstra and Dion Vrooman collected the heat race victories.  The Cyber Stocks will run their biggest event of the season, the “Cyber Stock Goat Roper 25 Presented by Weller Auto Parts” this Saturday night. The event will pay $300 to the winner.

With Saturday night’s program being cut short by weather it sets up a race fans dream this Saturday night as Kalamazoo Speedway will have 8 full length features for just $8! LKQ will be sponsoring the annual “Low Dough Night” with double features for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models being the featured events. They will run the “Texas Corral 50” originally scheduled for June 21 as well as the “LKQ 50” both on the same night! The Super Stocks will complete the final 23 laps of their feature plus run an entire second feature, while the Pro Stocks will run the rescheduled “Pro Stock Cash Bash Presented by Applebee’s” as well as a second feature. The Mini Stocks will run “Mini Stock Mayhem Presented by USA Earthworks”, which will pay $400 to the winner. Finally the Cyber Stock will run their biggest event of the season, the “Cyber Stock Goat Roper 25 Presented by Weller Auto Parts”, which will pay $300 to the winner. In addition to eight features Kalamazoo Speedway will also be hosting “Kidz Nite #2” which will feature big wheel and bike races for the kids at 6:30. Any kids wanting to participate in this event are welcome and should be at the track no later than 6:15.
