John Long returned to Kalamazoo Speedway Saturday night and picked up right where he left off by winning the “Shifters 50” for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models. It was Long’s second victory of the season and he became only the second driver to win more than one race in the division this season. AJ Foote ran an impressive race to come home second ahead of Todd Harrington and point leader Mike “Bubba” Brooks. Matt Frazier finished a solid fifth ahead of Rick Senneker, Marc Casey, John Chapman, Corey Ryman and Billy Shannon. Notable finishers included Luke Krick, who finished 15th. Mark Shook set quick time of the twenty Outlaw Super Late Models on the property while Marc Casey and Dan Roodvoets collected the heat race victories.

The Auto Value Super Sprint Series ran a very entertaining forty lap feature with JoJo Helberg emerging victorious. Joe Swanson finished second ahead of Davey Hamilton Jr., Kevin Feeney and David Byrne. The second half of the top ten was led by Jason Blonde over Mike Astrauskas, Cody Gallugly, Ron Koehler and Dustin Daggett. Helberg also set quick time with a lap at 10.530 seconds and 128.205mph. Heat race wins went to Feeney, Blonde and Daggett.

The Top Speed Modified Tour did not disappoint as they put on a great race which saw Travis Eddy collect the victory in a hard fought battle with Derrick Griffin. Jordan Pruitt finished third beating out Greg Fullerton and Brad Springer. Walt Obrinske finished sixth ahead of Mark Bott, Mel Klein, Bud Gripe and Damon Breedlove. Griffin set quick time while heats went to Pruitt and Klein.
