Klash of the Super Stocks

Klash of the Super Stocks

(Kalamazoo, MI) The Kalamazoo Speedway will be hosting the inaugural Super Stock Klash on Wednesday night June 13th at 7:00PM.  This inaugural event will be paying a record $5,000 to win for the Super Stocks. The “Zoo”, which is the only NASCAR sanctioned track in Michigan, has always been known for creating some of the most prestigious events in the racing world, such as the Super Late Model spectacular, the Kalamazoo Klash as well as the Call of the Wild and the Super Shoe Nationals.

The Super Stock Klash will feature a 100 lap feature that will be run in two segments, with the first segment being 75 laps and final segment being a 25 lap sprint to the cash. The Super Stocks will see all the locals on hand such as defending track champion Matt Corliss, Kenny Head, Ben Raber, Jake Hopwood, Brandon Lyons and a sleuth of locals trying to take home their biggest payday ever. The big money has even brought several guys from the Outlaw Late Models class to race, such as twelve time track champion Andy Bozell, defending Outlaw Late Model champion Phil Bozell, Mike “Bubba” Brooks, and Jeff Ganus. The event will also see many outsiders such as Todd Foote, Brandon Zachary, Nick Pressler, Robbie Ferrier, Mike Schewchuck, and many other invaders from several Midwest tracks.

“The Super Stock class has been our most competitive class of cars for several years……there are over a dozen cars every night that are capable of taking home a win.  This will be a very competitive & a fantastic event”, states Gary Howe, owner of the Kalamazoo Speedway. “We wanted to showcase this class with a special big paying race, creating a new version of the Klash for our Super Stocks.”

The Pro Stock Bash will also be on the card paying $1,500 to win for the Pro Stock 50 lap feature.  The big pay day will see a lot of out of town drivers attempt to steal the big pay day such as Todd Taylor, Tim Thurston, Josh Coburn, and many drivers from the local Midwest tracks.  Kalamazoo Speedway has its own local hot shoes such as Lloyd Brooks, Tyler Hufford, Zach Cook, Keith Wilfong, Brent Hook, Greg Haynes, Jimmy Wheaton and a host of others, set to protect their turf!

We would like to invite all media to our open practice session on Tuesday night June 12th, from 5-9pm.  On race day (Wednesday, June 13th), the gates will open at 1:00PM with the first practice session starting at 3:00PM with racing starting at 7:00 sharp.
