Kalamazoo Speedway Announces Dates/Procedures for 2016 Pre-Season Testing
Kalamazoo Speedway officials have announced the dates and procedures for three pre-season tests, leading up to Opening Night on Friday, April 29. The dates and times of the test sessions are below:
Saturday, April 16th – 1:00pm-5:00pm (pit gates open at Noon)
Saturday, April 23rd – 1:00pm-5:00pm (pit gates open at Noon)
Wednesday, April 27th – 5:30pm-8:30pm (pit gates open at 4:30pm)
In addition to the dates and times, track officials have also announced that due to the change to group qualifying for all divisions in 2016, each of the above posted test sessions will end with a “mock qualifying session”. Essentially this will mean that the final 85 minutes of each test session will be conducted in the exact same manner as group qualifying will be conducted during the season. This should give the race teams three opportunities to work out their qualifying strategies before opening night, as well as giving track officials the opportunity to work out any bugs in the system before the season begins.
In addition to the three official test sessions, Kalamazoo Speedway is available for track rentals almost any weekday, with a 3 day notice. The cost is $500 for a four hour test session or $600 for the entire day. There will be no track rentals available on the week of April 25th, except for the posted open practice on Wednesday evening.
