June 14th Tire Soak Testing Results

June 14th Tire Soak Testing Results

Kalamazoo Speedway will not tolerate tire soaking or tire altering of any kind. We will monitor tires for the remainder of the season and sample a tire or tires if there is suspicion of tampering or to conduct random periodic testing. It should NOT be assumed that a team is guilty of tampering merely because a sample has been taken.

On June 14 Kalamazoo Speedway collected tire samples from the cars of Todd Harrington and Craig Everage. Collection procedures provided by Blue Ridge Labs were both followed and witnessed. Both drivers’ tires were clean and Kalamazoo Speedway will be providing each driver with a replacement tire. Lab results for both drivers are attached (CLICK HERE).

Should Blue Ridge Labs determine tire tampering has occurred the following will occur:
 Loss of all earnings for that night.
 The driver will be suspended for the next four events when the class is racing.
 The driver will not be allowed in the pit area for the duration of the suspension; a driver will be allowed in the stands.
 The driver (or team) will pay a $500 fine to Kalamazoo Speedway before being allowed to race in any class, for any race/event. When applicable, this fine will carry forward to a future season.

If a driver refuses to allow a tire to be confiscated by the track, the driver will forfeit his/her pay and points for the night and incur a four-week suspension from participating in the next four events scheduled for that class.
