John Long Quickest in Pre-Season Testing @ the Zoo

John Long was the fastest car on the property at the first Pre-Season test of the season at Kalamazoo Speedway.  Long ran a lap of 12.946 seconds at 104.279mph to top the charts.  Mark Shook was second fastest ahead of former Modified champion, Mike “Bubba” Brooks, Dick Bissett and defending champion Brian Bergakker.  Jeff Bozell was sixth fastest while Rick Senneker, Todd Currier, Randy Day and Billy Shannon rounded out the top ten. 

The Super Stock division saw the Head brothers at the top of the charts with Buddy beating out his brother Kenny for the day’s fastest speed.  Chris Shannon was third ahead of Chris Orr and Jake Hopwood.  Ryan Wheeler was sixth beating out Jordan Hunderman, Tyler Hufford, Rob Hardy and Gary Denzel.

Brian Noble’s lap of 14.645 seconds was the fastest of all Pro Stock drivers.  “Big Papa” Keith Wilfong was second ahead of former Enduro driver Greg Brown.  Dustin Uminn and Felicia Meade rounded out the top five.

Defending Mini Stock champion Frank Stager was fastest in testing despite spinning out at one point.  Shane Clark was second fastest ahead of veteran driver Donnie Brest.  Jeremy Collins and Noah Gallandt completed the top five in Mini Stock testing.

In the Cyber Stock division Jerry Jansen was the fastest in his number 94 machine.  Brian Gregerson was second fastest ahead of Barry Jenkins.  The Neilson’s came in fourth and fifth with Walter IV topping Walter III. 

Next Saturday will be the final Pre-Season test before opening night featuring the Intimidator 100 for the Outlaw Super Late Models.  Pit gates will open at noon with practice running from 1:00-5:00.  Grandstand admission will be FREE and pit passes will be just $20.  Stay tuned to www.kalamazoospeedway.com for more information on the 2013 season.
