2011 Outlaw Super Late Model champion Phil Bozell held off a late challenge from his 12-time championship winning father Andy to claim the Call of the Wild victory Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway.  Andy, who came up just short of breaking his own world record during Raceceiver Qualifying Hour with a lap of 10.121 seconds (133.386mph), pulled beside his son in the late laps but Phil worked lapped traffic to perfection and held on for the win.  Marc Casey finished a very impressive third ahead of Mike Shewchuk and Kelli Jo Hofacker.  The second half of the top ten was led by Todd Currier ahead of Robby Henderson, Dave Simpson, Josh Trammel and Nate Moon.  AJ Foote won the ‘B’ Feature while David Elliott won the ‘C’.

The Outlaw Mini Stock division saw 1995 Super Stock champion Billy Shannon pick up the victory over teammate Mike McKee.  Jeremy Collins finished third ahead of youngster Chaz Hook and veteran Billy Bussema.  Shane Clark led the second half of the top ten over Logan Knight, Curtis Towne, Steve Coffey and Will Slaughter.  Shannon also set quick time with a lap of 13.771 seconds.

Todd Metz Jr. put on an impressive driving display to pick up the victory in the Outlaw FWD.  Fast qualifier Jason Essex finished second ahead of Jerry Jansen Jr., Travis Loop and TC Burgess.  Veteran driver Jordan Hunderman finished sixth ahead of Mike Westphal, Matt Majewski, Bob Brown and Josh Roberts.

Next on the schedule is the grand-daddy of them all, the 27th annual Super Shoe Nationals.  This Saturday, September 21st at noon teams and fans will be allowed the begin marking off their camping spots in preparation for Super Shoe Nationals XXVII.  Then on Friday, September 27th the racing weekend will begin with practice and qualifying.  Grandstand admission will be FREE for Friday.  Saturday, September 28th will see heat races, the fan favorite Dash for Cash and last chance races.  Then on Super Sunday, September 29th, fans can witness all the features including the 75 lap main event.
