Kalamazoo, MI — A record crowd packed the stands at Kalamazoo Speedway for the 76th season opener, as the Intimidator 100 delivered a thrilling night of racing with an impressive 90-car, 3-in-1 program.
The Outlaw Super Late Models headlined the evening, with Mark Shook setting fast time ahead of the 100-lap main event. When the green flag dropped, it was Tyler Roahrig who rose to the occasion, capturing the $5,000 victory in dominant fashion. Roahrig held off a strong field, with Shook finishing second, followed by Adam Terry, Blake Childers, Jeff Ganus, Trevor McCoy, Zack Cook, Monte Tolan, Scott Hantz, and Bryce Bozell rounding out the top ten.
In Front Wheel Drive competition, the O'Reilly Auto Parts A Division feature saw Matthew Elsey Jr. take the win over Nick Layman, Matt Elsey Sr., Jeremiah Bouma, and Scott Gates.
The Spartan Insulation B Division delivered a memorable moment as James McDonald captured his first-ever feature victory. McDonald led the field to the checkered flag ahead of Josh Reames, Desmond Watkins, Charles Anderson, and Jacob Montgomery-Froelich.
The Joe Schmoe’s Bar & Grill C Division feature went to Dayton Brady, who bested Calvin Forney, Andrew Randt, Louie Lohrke, and Don Teadt in a competitive race.
Street Stock action was just as intense. In the Techworks Trailer Sales A Feature, Jeff Town powered his way to victory over Brock Ganus, Jeff Ganus, Alex Sexton, and Logan Maynard. Meanwhile, the B Feature saw Bobby Oxford take the win over Clye Milliken, Jerry Ballard, Jason Dobosiewicz, and Alexander Vornkoenig.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the next round of action. Kalamazoo Speedway returns this Friday, April 24th, with the “Dare to Be Different” FWD Race for Autism. Gates open at 2:30 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:30 PM. Late Models, Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks will all be part of the evening’s program as the Speedway continues its exciting 2026 season.
