Kalamazoo Speedway, the world’s fastest 3/8-mile oval, will host the Great Lakes Outlaw Late Model Series for the first time ever on July 17, 2010. The race will be the first Outlaw Super Late Model race at the track on a slick tire since the 2006 Kalamazoo Klash when former NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series champion Johnny Benson took the checkered flag. Speeds are expected to be near Rick Sexton’s 12-year old track record of 12.037 seconds! The race will pay $2,000 to win and $500 to start and is expected to draw the best Outlaw Super Late Model drivers in the Midwest. The starting field will consist of 21 cars, with the 21st place starter being the highest driver in Kalamazoo Speedway points not locked into the show. The race will be run in conjunction with the first ever Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series event at the track, which will see drivers such as Jeff Bloom, Bobby East, Jason Blonde and Dave Steele take shots at Cameron Dodson’s 5-year old track record of 10.835 seconds. This night promises to be one of the most spectacular displays of pure speed ever seen at Kalamazoo Speedway! In addition to the 75-lap Great Lakes Outlaw Late Model Series feature and the 50-lap Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series event will be a full show for Kalamazoo’s Super Stock division. This will be a night you won’t want to miss!! For more information on Kalamazoo Speedway visit www.kalamazospeedway.com.
