This Saturday night, September 14th one of the most anticipated events of the Kalamazoo Speedway season takes place with the running of the “Call of the Wild Presented by Raceceiver and Sweet Manufacturing”. The name says it all, this event is the “Wild One”!! With essentially no rules teams have the opportunity to showcase their ingenuity and see how fast they can get around the fastest 3/8 mile in the world. “12-time” Andy Bozell currently holds the world record at 10.020 seconds, set in this event two years ago. Andy will be among the drivers looking to better that mark this year during “Raceceiver Qualifying Hour” where the fastest eight cars from practice will have one hour to run by themselves attempting to achieve a new world record. The fastest qualifier for the event will receiver $1,000 cash plus a $500 Sweet Manufacturing certificate. If the fastest qualifier also sets a new world record they will receive an additional $1,000 bonus as well. In addition to the excitement of the world record attempts, the night will feature a 50 lap, $1,500 to win feature for the Outlaw V-8 machines. Outlaw Mini Stocks and Outlaw FWD’s will also be in action.
