Jul 14, 2010 - Raber Wins On Topless Mod Night @ the Zoo!

Ben Raber picked up his first victory of 2010 by capturing the Topless Modified feature event Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway.  Raber defeated young Jordan Dahlke, AJ Foote, Brent Hook and point leader Mike Brooks.  Mark Flierman was sixth ahead of Matt Bainbridge, Dan Loghan, Lindsay Katz and Michelle Sexton.  Brooks and Sexton won the heats while Brooks again set quick time.

Tom Rutherford captured the win in the Super Stock feature over young Jamison Russell, point leader Buddy Head, Eric McGlothlen and Jake Hopwood.  Chris Shannon finished sixth beating out Matt Corliss, Rick VanHouten, Matt Frazier and Josh Leo.  Shannon set quick time while Angelo Buchino and Leo won the heats.

The biggest race of the season for the Pro Stocks saw Steve Smith Sr. come in and beat out the regulars in the 30 lap feature.  Lloyd Brooks finished second ahead of Jeff Wanamaker, Tyler Hufford and Matt Bainbridge.  Keith Wilfong finished sixth ahead of Toby Montgomery, Seth Moody, Jake Hoffman and Butch Glass.  Noble was quick time while Bainbridge and Glass won the heats.

The Cyber Stocks saw Kyle Knapp pick up the victory over Dale Leonard, Doug Smith, Jerry Jansen and defending champion Keith Dunham.  Brian Gregersen, Jeff Wolfersberger, Kaitie Krum, Bob Richmind and Mike Tabbert finished sixth through tenth.  Jansen again set quick time while John Rousseau, Jason Switzer and Knapp won the heats.  TC Burgess won the ‘B’ Feature.

This Saturday, July 17th will be the badest fastest show you've seen at Kalamazoo Speedway for many years.  The mighty winged Super Sprints return to the Zoo as the Must See Racing XTreme Sprint Car Series will be here.  This is the number one pavement Sprint Car series in the nation, with a full field of 28-30 cars expected.  Also the Great Lakes Outlaw Late Models will be here taking on the Kalamazoo Speedway Super Late regulars with all of the Late Models running the super soft jumbo slicks!  Also the Kalamazoo Super Stocks, the most competive class of race cars found anywhere will be on hand to continue their dog fight in the 2010 point battle.  The Michiana Vintage Cars & the annual Tri-Sac reunion will also be on hand.  This is perhaps the highest profile show we have seen at Kalamazoo over the last decade....don't miss this one.  (Raindate would be the next day, Sunday July 18th at 6PM).
