Chapman, Shook and Bozell Earn Final Spots For Today’s All-Star Shootout!!

John Chapman took advantage of a fued between Mike Brooks and Todd Harringon to sneak by and win the AllStar Performance All-Star Shootout Last Chance race Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway.  In doing so Chapman earned the 13th starting spot for today’s All-Star Shootout.  In the second and final segment of the event Mark Shook charged from deep in the pack to win and get the 14th starting spot for today’s feature.  Finally in the Lane Roll off Jeff Bozell was the first to roll doubles and thus earned the final position for the Shootout.  Tim DeVos was the third place finisher in the Last Chance ahead of Curt Spalding and Mike Shewchuk.  Jeff Bozell, Mike Brooks, Randy Chupp, Doug True and Dan Roodvoets completed the top ten.


 


In Qualifying Race #1 for the All-Stars Rick Sexton showed his strength with a win, which earned him the pole for today’s event.  In the second race eleven-time champion Andy Bozell drove away with the win and will start on the outside pole.  The complete starting lineup for today’s All-Star Shootout is as follows:

Despite his near miss in the Shootout Last Chance race Mike Brooks had no problems at all in winning yet another Modified Feature.  Young Matt Bainbridge gave a commendable effort but wound up second ahead of Randy DeBoer, Ryan Wheeler and Dan Loughan.  Brent Hook finished sixth beating out Steve Dolphin, Clay DePlanche, Lindsay Katz and Chris Singleton.  Brooks was once again quick time while Ben Raber and Wheeler won the heats.


 


Defending champion Phil Bozell emerged as the victor from an action-packed Super Stock event.  Jake Hopwood continued his impressive season with a second place effort ahead of Buddy Head, Rick VanHouten and Eric McGlothlen.  Ron Hoghson finished sixthe while Jamison Russell, Larry Hollenbeck, Angelo Buchino and Dave Simpson rounded out the top ten.  Chris Shannon was quick time while Hank Miller and Tom Rutherford won the heats.


 


Lloyd Brooks broke out of his slump to win the Pro Stock feature over Matt Noble, Keith Wilfong, Butch Glass and Scott Elsey.  Ron Landis, Dale Bruns, Jim Wheaton, Seth Moody and Tyler Hufford rounded out the top ten.  Brooks and Glass won the heats and Noble set fast time.


 


The Cyber Stocks put on another good show with Shawn Misak winning for the second week in a row after setting quick time and starting in the back.  Dale Leonard, TC Burgess, Doug Smith and Keith Dunham were second through fifth.  Nick Layman, Mike Tabbert, Brian Gregersen, Kaylee Misak and Jerry Jansen rounded out the top ten.  John Hoffman, Matt Slater and Shawn Misak won the heats while Hoffman also picked up the win in the ‘B’ Feature.


 


On the card for today is one of the biggest event of the season at Kalamazoo Speedway, highlighted by the AllStar Performance All-Star Shootout for the Outlaw Super Late Models.  The race will be a three-segment event and the winner will emerge with $5,000!!  Following that event will be the Belle Tire Stars & Stripes 200 for the Belle Tire Enduro Series where Greg LaPierre, Eddy Burgen, Brian Amos, Jamie Hancock, Wayne Stack and many, many more will be chasing victory.  The night will then conclude with the LARGEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN!!  For more information go to www.kalamazoospeedway.com.
